Slashcode on MacOS X

posted by Krow on 06:26 AM March 29th, 2001   Printer-friendly   Email story
NotoriousGIB writes "With the recent release of MacOS X it seems a good time to ask the slashcode community if anyone has managed to get a version of the current release or a bender release to run in this environment. Also, would it be possible to create a "skin" using bender to emulate the MacOS X "Aqua" interface? Now THAT would be slick!"
Welcome to fast track Apple sueing you. Course, someone should do it anyway :)

  • Perhaps it is time to resurrect the Macintosh again.

From what I understand about OS X, it should be rather straight forward to install Slash 2.0 on it. Apache runs on the Mac. I don't know about Mod_perl, but I imagine it does. I think the problem might be the Perl bundles. Probably the BSD::Resource module would be required, but there might be something else that breaks too.

Now, only if I could get the money together to get the motherboard for my Powermac 9600 (with G3 card) fixed.........

It's either on the beat or off the beat, it's that easy.

The required MySQL modules for Perl don't work under OSX. No ETA on a fix.
  • In what way don't they work? Compiler issues? Something else?
  • If anyone does have an aqua theme, please let me know!
