This is on my list of things to do.

I'm currently writing an XHTML theme for Slash, which is a process of several stages. The main two are as follows:

    1. Fix the templates to be XHTML compliant (in progress)
    2. Move as much as possible of the HTML generation out of the Perl modules and scripts and into the template system.

You'd be amazed at how much stuff is hardcoded in the scripts, until you try to change some of it that is! I found this when working on the admin header menu, but there are plenty of other examples - yours is one of them. Once the header text is generated from a template rather than a Perl function it should be much easier to tweak it to add a few extra things...

I believe most of the data you'll want is accessed before the header is written anyway, to enable things like setting the page title correctly, so it shouldn't be tragically difficult...

    Regards,
    Denny
