Wouldn't it be nice to have a favorites box for things related to the site? Like a 'mark for follow up' or 'add to favorites' as an internal bookmark system? I'm thinking like userspace but more automated.

How many times have you been on /. and read something that you would like to come back too but are tired of adding tons of /. links to your browsers bookmarks so you don't... only to wish you had later?

ok... I'll be quiet now, just thinking out loud...
Sandor 2003-06-26T03:40:37+00:00 slash Some Quick Questions http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/273?from=rss
If I lease a dedicated box running BSD how difficult is it to setup 1) multiple virtual server(s) 2)can I set up a few of those as php based sites? Is there any conflicts running apache, modperl, perl, mysql, php and slash that I should know about before wetup time? (I don't need php on for every virtual site just one or two but I will need to be running slash on one of the sites)... any of you guys have experience with this please reply.
Sandor 2003-05-26T20:46:54+00:00 slash About to be yassed and slashed again... http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/268?from=rss
Well, good news comes at the strangest of times and methods; I have been hired by a company to customize and run another slash based site. Once again it will be about martial arts(dunno if any of you ever checked out the old site) but this time will be different; the company has bank(as opposed to me paying for it) and has hired a number of prominent martial artists to write articles on a schedule. Real publishing deadlines and writers... I'm drooling already. I'll fill you in on more as things progress forwards from here. Probably about two weeks to a launch date.

Too cool. I hope this goes well. Expect to see me in irc with stupid newbie questions guys. You have been warned;)
Sandor 2003-05-17T00:45:42+00:00 slashsites Journals not HOF worthy? http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/267?from=rss
Been pondering if that photocontest journal entry(previously mentioned) would actually hit hof levels or not on a site as busy as slashdot is. I see that they have crossed the lowest threshold for entry there but it seems a no on that front. Is this on purpose, a bug or am I missing something(like journals aren't stories)?
Sandor 2003-05-08T01:58:38+00:00 slash Journals gone wild http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/266?from=rss
I originally posted this in my /. account but it is worth a share here.

This about says it all. Right now its a bit over a 1100 and headed for the books... I wonder if there is a journal hall of fame. Anyways, if you haven't read this journal entry you are way behind on the local /. user gossips and goodies. Excellent use of the journal system, FortKnox, nice. I can't wait to see what this flourishes into.

This could develop into way beyond what I was thinking about when I first read about the journal system. Have any of you folks seen this in your users journal systems?
Sandor 2003-05-06T05:47:32+00:00 slash Anyone hosting 2.x version sites? http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/203?from=rss
Does anyone know who is hosting slash 2.x series sites or have a suggestion on who has a hosting package in the $50/month range where I could instal and have root access?
Sandor 2002-06-11T05:04:59+00:00 slashsites Is there a +2 posting level? http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/195?from=rss
Just curious(though it seems noone reads this shit anyways...)

Anyone notice some people post at 3 instead of 2 on /. ?

Am I getting this straight or is it that one of the moderation messages doesn't actually display when someone is modded up?
Sandor 2002-05-10T02:58:38+00:00 slashdot Journal entries archived?!? http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/194?from=rss
Hey guys! what interval do you have journal entries being aarchived at? Just curious, because I hadn't noticed that before on a journal entry. What's the dealio?
Sandor 2002-05-07T03:19:58+00:00 slash Friends/Fans/Foes http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/191?from=rss
So, a while back I went on the record as saying I wouldn't find much use for this nifty feature. A friend says to me 'You should be more open minded about it because it is a coooool idea' and I decide to give it a shot. After a few months of using it on my /. accounts and here I figured I should let you all know that this is a very cool feature indeed. Combined with the messaging system it makes for a more interesting experience for the user.

I owe you guys an apology.
Sandor 2002-04-27T03:25:25+00:00 slash New Poll for slashcode???!?!? http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/178?from=rss
Hey, the poll is getting old, dontcha think?

Anyone have a suggestion for a new one?

Personally, I would like to see a poll about how you folks are marketing your slash sites, but that's just me.
Sandor 2002-03-06T23:35:16+00:00 slash Just wondering... http://www.slashcode.com/~Sandor/journal/136?from=rss
Ok, I guess this will be just two questions...

First, if you guys actually read these things?... someone, anyone, just feel free to let me know ;)

Lately, there have been a few changes here so on my version of the slashcode homepage I have the portal box for my site but it doesn't seem to have been updated in a while.
I checked my site and everything is ok with the feed. Any thoughts on why its not updating here?

Thing is I am wondering if it is a possibly an error on my end because I have a friend who's huke site for some reason can't pull the feed from my site. I never played with nuke but I do manage to pull his feed no problem.

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled...
Sandor 2001-12-19T05:44:42+00:00 bugs
