Ever wanted to ask questions in person?

posted by Krow on 04:05 PM January 12th, 2001   Printer-friendly   Email story
So, ever had a question you wanted to ask us in person about slash and/or slashdot? We will be having a BOF at the Linux World Expo on Wednesday, January 31, 2001, Room 1E11, 6:00pm-7:30pm. So, if you happen to be around, feel free to join us.

  • I was half pulling your leg. Only half though. :-) I was serious in my question only because Taco really doesn't like me. I am VERY interested in slash despite Rob, and would like to be a part of, do what I can to help rather than just detract. Where is The Perl Conference this year? It would be great to have a cup of coffee with you guys and discuss internationalization of slash with you. Slash needs very little IMHO to really reach the next level.

  • YAPC [] is in Montreal in June, and TPC [] is in San Diego in July. We will certainly have a Slash BOF this year at TPC, and I will try to make sure it is not on the same night as the MacPerl [] BOF, so I can hang out afterward and chat with all of you (I had to leave right after the Slash BOF last year :/).
  • Dude, I don't even know you. *shrug*

Anyway, it looks like me and Krow will be at Comdex in April, and then there's YAPC (which I will be at, at least) and perhaps most of us will be at The Perl Conference.

  • I don't know. Do you happen top be heavily sedated at the moment? :-)
  • Why doesn't that suprise me...

  • Oh not at all! I quit drinking and useing drugs in 1987. So I don't self medicate anymore. I have always been more than a little wary of anyone who works for the same company that Taco does. I usually make friends with the people where I work, and if something irritates one of them, well... It's only natural. I had hoped that perhaps a few people at Andover could and would remain professional but I'm not suprised at all to find that this is not the case. Either way, I can't come out and play then. W
