alessio writes "At last, release 7.1 of PostgreSQL sees the light. It has a big list of improvements but what is most important, Slashcode-wise, is the bye-bye to the 8K size limit for each row. This was a major problem for applications that store big TEXT fields, as our beloved one.
At the same time, a nasty bug that led to segfaulting when inserting large amounts of text into 7.1 attributes of type TEXT was found in the Perl module DBD::Pg. The new release 0.96 fixes all. Go update!"
