Slash and Internationalization

posted by pudge on 12:53 PM March 30th, 2001   Printer-friendly   Email story
A lot of people want internationalization (I18N) in Slash. However, not everyone knows -- or agrees -- on what that means, or what it will take to implement it all. So there is a new mailing list, slashcode-i18n, for discussion of the topic. There, I hope we can determine what needs to happen to Slash to support I18N, and then how we should go about doing it.

click here [] for an example. even in chinese, it's still shocking! .Howie.
  • What about a Plugin development list? Or is that more like the DEV list?

It's either on the beat or off the beat, it's that easy.
  • Until it seems there is a need for a separate list, yeah, I think the development list is perfect for that. It's a good question, though ... I guess I18N deserves its own list just so we can stay focused on the issues at hand, because to my mind these are complicated issues, and there are a lot of people not interested in development who care about them, and there are a lot of people interested in development who don't care about them. :-)
