Multiple Cookie Domains

Anonymous Coward writes "i want to use the slash cookies on another domain to keep all the users on my network authenticated. is it possible to add multiple cookie domains and if so how do i do it. thanks a lot for ur help in advance."

    I believe that you are explicitly NOT able to use cookies accross unrelated domains, as this would be a privacy concern.

    However, you CAN use it accross different hosts on the same domain, provided the domain either:
    1. ends with edu, net, gov, mil, com or org and contains at least 1 dot in it (eg you could specify xxxx.com, and use it on hosta.xxxx.com and hostb.xxxx.com) OR
    2.) ends with a country code and contains 2 dots in it (eg you could specify xxxx.com.au and use it on hosta.xxxx.com.au and hostb.xxxx.com.au)

    Using frames, create multiple frames that have a width of 0. Those frames source would be the other "multiple domains". Feed to a CGI program the cookie you want to set, and they will be able to set it. That is the best way to do it and it works. When a user changes their password or information, just do the same thing again.
