  • I do offer shell accounts, and my customers do tend to use them, but for the most part you should be able to manage without them. I offer a Web based form to restart Apache and phpMyAdmin for modifying the DB directly.

    It may be useful to tweak permissions, but in most cases, scp should get it right.

    RE: previous poster... installing mod_gzip is something only root would do anyway, and only a one time thing.
