    Sure enough, slashd was running. Sure enough, the directory permissions were set correctly.

    So I restarted slashd a couple of times just for the heck of it. Voila! There they were!

      Thanks for all the advice!

      slashd wasn't executing properly from /etc/init.d/slash at first, I had to run it manually a few times until it started picking up correctly frim init.d!

      Also, it seems a forced shutdown of the web server, then slashd, then a restart of both will generate instant new inc files!
