  • I use redhat for my slashstuff. Did you install a new perl?

If so - from RPM or source?
Did you remove the old one?

I generally remove any perl/mysql/apache/php crap that's installed on the box, grab new of all the tarballs, and then install it all that. Then install CPAN and install all the perl modules.

    • You know, I was doing this and as of 7.2 I said the hell with it and now just use Redhat's Apache/mod_perl. Works fine now.

same has been true with debian; that mod_perl wasn't working just right, so i've been installing from src tarballs. i keep hoping that one day it will work, and plan to try it out with testing and unstable in the forseeable future...
