    One option for the problematic "variable IP" is dyndns.org [dyndns.org]. It may, however, violate your University's terms of service for network use. As we all know - those guidelines (and all your University's rules) should be adhered to at all times. This site [antiochsucks.com] is a great example of using University bandwidth wisely.
