mouse event image glitch

Could you please fix the problem with the logo image (top left) disappearing and refreshing when I move my mouse onto or back off of it?
Is it meant to display a different image on focus/blur?
If so, why not cache it? (there is javascript in the page already...)
I noticed it on
/. where I use the logo link to get back to the home page (as the home link at the footer often links to a category page instead).
It reminds of a monkey-bashing click-thru ad, as it seems to evade my mouse cursor every time I take aim.
(Running IE6 on win XP, and also on win2K, btw)
