Not quite. Though that feature is really slick, I think the OP wanted two actual slash sites, each with their own batch of sections, running on the same domain. The only reason I can think that you'd want to do this is that you're too cheap to register a second domain name, or as an intellectual exercise.

If I were going to do that, I think I'd name the sites in the subdomain rather than a directory. I.e., coolslash.mysite.com and slashnews.mysite.com.
