    I managed to do this after asking about it some time ago. If you use the search function on http://news.DiverseBooks.com then you will get two sets of results. One is the normal slash one, and the second is generated by using swish-e which is a fairly old program for indexing websites and providing a search feature. I can supply some sample code if anyone is interested.
