Just change the HTML in the header template to whatever you want. The image size tags allow some browsers to load the page before the image loads (page usually loads quicker), but you can use any html you wish.

This is the problem. When you call up the header template using backslash it appears blank.
I had the same problem, maybe this is your problem: konqueror browser
The template does not display properly with konqueror, but i think it is ok with netscape, mozilla, and ie5.5, ie6.
konqueror is fussy about valid html.

As to why it would be blank.. that is not normal, unless your header template is empty.
