    This feature isn't available in 2.2.6, which was feature-frozen in late 2001. So IMG won't work properly. It's been supported in CVS for six months, even though no OSDN sites require it, and at least one site admin mentioned on IRC that it was being used on his site successfully.
    If you're determined to stay on 2.2.6, here's the patch that enables the approvedtags var to support IMG. Other changes may be required, I don't know, but this may be useful to get you started.
