part of what you want already exists. see http://www.lottadot.com/ [lottadot.com]. There should be a little red 'r' by each story. If you're logged in, you can click on it and set it to remind you about that story in 1/2/5/7/14 days.
that is part of the Calleria plugin. Grab it from CVS, install (it'll install OK to SlashHEAD) and give it a try.
As for the other stuff, I'd say look at sf.net's [sf.net] bookmark system. I always thought that would be a cool slash-plugin.
