Yet Another Security Site

posted by Krow on 12:03 PM May 26th, 2003   Printer-friendly   Email story
YASS should probably stand for "Yet another Security Site" LOL. I've been playing around with slash for about a week now, and finally have the beginnings of a site running. Feel free to pop in, drop some comments, break stuff and generally see what goes. The more participation I see, the more work I'll put into making it a nice site. A good name might help... now there's an idea for a poll.

  • Well, I've happily discovered RDF/RSS feeds, and have started adding some to the site. Does anyone know of a good categorized list? I've checked xmltree.com, but the site appears to be down, is it a goner?
    • This way dead :)

At the moment I am not sure which site other then may New Is Free [newsisfree.com].

You can't grep a dead tree.
    • I see that Krow already recommended NewsIsFree. Another decent site is Syndic8 [syndic8.com].

I can't think of too many more that aren't just copies of these two or haven't gone under...

  • What does the "a20p" stand for? At first glance, I thought you might be hosting it on a ThinkPad [ibm.com] ;)

    • yes indeed... it is an IBM A20p ;)... even worse it runs via a Wireless Card from my Bedroom... I have other systems that I could set up slash on, possibly have the backend on a seperate system, but then I was just playing about mostly... now my laptop is stuck within a 30m range of my Access Point ;)
